Natalie and EJ’s love story began in the fall semester of 2015 at Montana State University. They were introduced by a mutual best friend who, let’s be honest, probably deserves a lifetime supply of vodka soda's for making that connection. What started as casual conversations about concerts and snow conditions quickly turned into late-night talks, adventurous weekends, and the beginning of a love story built for the mountains.
Bonding over their shared love of camping, skiing, music, and fishing, Natalie and EJ were rarely found indoors (unless there was live music involved). Over the last nine years, their adventures have taken them from the peaks of Big Sky to the powder of Whitefish. After a brief move to Steamboat, they finally returned to the state they love most—Montana.
Two Labradors, Honey and Bo, joined their family along the way, solidifying their status as “those people” who always have dog hair on their clothes and wouldn’t have it any other way.
In 2022, EJ decided it was time to level up their love story. While on a trip to Colombia, he proposed to Natalie in a dreamy tree-top bungalow that looked like something out of a movie. (We’re still not sure how he pulled that off without Honey in attendance, but Natalie forgave him and of course said yes!)
Life, however, had other plans. Over the past two years, they’ve taken the time to grieve the loss of EJ’s beloved mother, putting their wedding dreams on hold to focus on family.
During this time, EJ’s family purchased a stunning property in Emigrant, Montana, nestled in the heart of Paradise Valley, just a short drive from Yellowstone National Park.
Then, as if the stars were aligning, Natalie and EJ found the perfect property of their own in November of 2024—a charming set of cabins in the same valley. They couldn’t think of a better place to finally say “I do” than on this special piece of land they now call home.
And now, almost 10 years after Natalie first showed up EJ on the slopes (yes, it really has been that long), they’re ready to tie the knot— Honey and Bo are sick of being confused on what their last names are.
We can’t wait for you to join us in Paradise Valley to celebrate this next chapter of our adventure!
